About Kodandam

Kodandam takes its name from Kodanda, the bow of Lord Ram. Like the bow in Lord Ram’s hands, it is meant to be steady, true and aimed at dharma.

Our mission

To make the timeless wisdom of Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and the Hindu scriptures easy for anyone to explore: in simple language, in their own language, and grounded in the actual texts.

What you can ask

  • The meaning of a verse, such as Bhagavad Gita 2.47
  • Stories and lessons from the Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas, Mahabharata and Puranas
  • Guidance for daily life: anger, grief, duty, relationships, work and fear
  • How different traditions understand a teaching

How Kodandam works

When you ask a question, Kodandam searches its library of scripture texts and public-domain translations for relevant passages, then uses AI to write an answer based on them, with references you can check. You can see the sources it used below each answer.

Our principles

  • Grounded: cite the scriptures, never invent quotations
  • Respectful: honour every tradition, deity and community
  • Humble: AI is a helper, not a guru; always verify with teachers and texts
  • Private: your conversations are yours; see our Privacy Policy
