These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Kodandam at kodandam.si (the “Service”). By signing in or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Kodandam is

Kodandam is an AI assistant that answers questions about the teachings of Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Hindu scriptures such as the Ramayana, Ramcharitmanas, Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata, Puranas, Upanishads and Vedas. Answers are generated by artificial intelligence using public-domain scripture texts and translations.

2. Your account

  • You sign in with your Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You should be 18 or older, or use the Service with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
  • Provide accurate information and keep your Google account secure.

3. Acceptable use

Please use Kodandam respectfully. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to create content that insults or promotes hatred towards any religion, deity, community, caste or person
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, harassing or misleading
  • Present AI-generated answers as the official view of any religious institution or scholar
  • Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, or get around usage limits
  • Share other people’s personal information in your questions

4. AI answers and accuracy

Kodandam’s answers are generated by AI and can contain mistakes, including incorrect verse references or translations. Interpretations of scripture differ between traditions. Answers are for learning and reflection and are not authoritative religious rulings. Please verify important points with the original texts and with qualified teachers. See our Disclaimer.

5. Not professional advice

Kodandam does not provide medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If you are in distress or crisis, please contact a professional. In India you can call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24×7) or the emergency number 112.

6. Usage limits and availability

To keep the Service fair and affordable, we may limit the number of questions per day. The Service is provided free of charge and “as is”; it may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time.

7. Content and intellectual property

  • Scripture texts used by Kodandam are ancient works and public-domain translations. See Scripture Sources for credits.
  • The Kodandam name, logo, design and software belong to Kodandam.
  • You keep ownership of the questions you write. You give us permission to store and process them to provide the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You may use the answers you receive for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or misuse the Service. You can stop using Kodandam at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@kodandam.si.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Kodandam is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on answers from the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
